Nearly 200 new teachers are moving into Buncombe County classrooms beginning this week. Many of them are new to the "Tar Heel" state as well. That's because a shortage of math and science teachers sent administrators to other states to recruit new graduates, State like Michigan where teaching jobs are harder to come by. The Buncombe County school system says the reason for the shortage of math and science teachers is that graduates with these majors, often have lots of other career opportunities.
